About the Role:
A TPH Apprentice Plumber will report to the Site Supervisor or Dispatcher and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and certification of all plumbing systems and components.
Responsibilities:
- Provide for the installation of plumbing, pipes, fitting, equipment, and fixtures.
- Write and read installation manuals; complete forms and reports.
- Prioritize and complete all assign work orders by working independently and in teams with minimum supervision to assess situations, implement actions, and perform physical work/tasks.
- Ensure that all plumbing installations are in conjunction with all applicable codes and best practices.
- Access appropriate information to source and order materials needed for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing/piping systems.
- Manage hot work permits and follow lock out/tag out procedures.
- Participate in the review of new project drawings and specifications to give input to ensure plan and specifications meet TPH requirements and standards.
- Use trade expertise to prepare all relevant safe work practices, documentation, procedures, and emergency response protocols to ensure quick and effective response in case of emergency.
- Understand and strictly comply with OHS policies and legislation (OHSA).
- Ability to perform after-hours emergency service calls and have after-hours work availability.
What You’ll Bring:
- 1+ years of experience in the plumbing industry is required; 2+ years experience is an asset.
- Valid Apprentice Plumber license (registered with Skilled Trades Ontario) is strongly preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Strong understanding of structural drawings and specifications.
- Experience in industrial/commercial plumbing is an asset.
- Team player who can work independently.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
