The Opportunity
We're looking for a driven, self-motivated Business Development Representative to help us connect with BC small businesses that need HR support. This is a fully remote contractor role with a flexible schedule, perfect for a summer student, recent graduate, or anyone looking to build real-world sales experience while earning strong commission.
You'll be on the front lines of LilyHR's growth, reaching out to prospective clients, starting conversations, and booking discovery calls for our founding team. There's no micromanagement here. You own your schedule, your outreach, and your results.
What You'll Do
Identify and research BC small businesses that would benefit from fractional HR support
Conduct outbound outreach via cold calls, email, and LinkedIn
Qualify prospects and book discovery calls with the LilyHR team
Track outreach activity and pipeline in our CRM (Apollo)
Follow up with warm leads and nurture prospects through to a signed contract
Who This Is For
Summer students or recent graduates looking to build sales and business development experience
Self-starters who are comfortable with outbound outreach and rejection
People who want full flexibility over their schedule and how they work
Anyone motivated by earning real commission on real results, not just an hourly rate for showing up
No HR experience required. We'll give you everything you need to have confident, informed conversations with prospects.
PREFERRED: Based within Metro-Vancouver.
Compensation
This is a 100% commission-based contractor role. There is no base salary or hourly wage.
You earn $100 for every qualified meeting you book that takes place with a business owner or HR decision-maker.
You also earn 10%-20% of the total contract value (depending on client & contract amount) for any client that signs a retainer agreement as a result of a meeting you booked.
LilyHR retainers range from $1,000 to $3,500+ per month. A signed client on a 3-month minimum term generates $3,000 to $10,500+ in contract value, meaning your commission on a single closed deal is $300 to $1,050 or more, on top of your meeting fees.
Realistic earning potential: $2,000 to $6,000+ per month for a representative booking several qualified meetings and closing 1 to 2 clients per month. Earning potential scales entirely with your effort and results.
Meeting fees are paid weekly. Closing commission is paid within 14 days of LilyHR receiving the first payment from a signed client.

Location: Fully remote, work from anywhere in Canada. BC applicants are preferred
Schedule: Completely flexible, you set your own hours
Start date: Available immediately, ideal for June/July start
Duration: Initial 3-month contract with potential to continue
Equipment: As an independent contractor, you must provide your own phone and laptop
