Mint Music — Downtown Toronto
Mint Music is seeking a creative, organized, and growth-focused Social Media & Content Coordinator to help expand our online presence and showcase the vibrant community within our downtown Toronto music school and recording studio near Yonge & Dundas.
This freelance contract position is ideal for someone who is passionate about music, arts education, digital storytelling, and audience growth across a variety of social media platforms.
We are looking for someone who understands how to create engaging content while also thinking strategically about brand development, audience engagement delivering on measurable growth and company profitability.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute social media content strategies across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Google My Business and YouTube
- Oversee and help create engaging photo, video, graphic, and written content that reflects the school’s brand and community appeal
- Film and edit short-form content including reels, performance clips, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, and student spotlights
- Design promotional graphics and marketing materials using Canva and Photoshop
- Help promote private lesson offerings, concerts, workshops, courses, jam-nights, rock bands and other school programming for all ages
- Assist with content planning, scheduling, and maintaining a consistent posting calendar
- Monitor engagement, audience growth, and social media analytics
- Collaborate with administration, instructors, and leadership to develop effective marketing initiatives and campaigns
- Occasionally, work on-site to capture content during lessons, rehearsals, concerts, monthly jams and other events.
What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of music and a willingness to establish lasting connections within the Toronto music scene
- Strong understanding of various approaches for content strategy and audience engagement through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, You Tube etc
- Experience creating engaging short-form social media content
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and Canva Pro
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently
- Ability to maintain a consistent brand voice and professional presentation
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for arts organizations, schools, musicians, other creative brands
- Familiarity with YouTube content strategy and optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro
- If you are a musician and educator yourself this will help you speak the language that appeals to amateur and professional musicians alike
- Knowledge of Meta Business Suite and social media analytics tools
- Photography, videography, or graphic design experience
- Passion for music and arts education
- Familiarity with website design and SEO
Position Details
- Freelance contract position
- Approximately 5–10 hours per week
- Hybrid role with occasional in-person content capture required
- Flexible scheduling based on events and content needs
Compensation
- $20–$35 CAD per hour
- Compensation based on experience, skill level, and scope of work
