We are looking for an experienced 309A electrician who can take ownership of a job from start to finish. That means being able to walk onto a site, understand what needs to happen, organize the work, lead apprentices, communicate with the customer, and make sure the job is completed properly.
The right person will have a self-employed mindset: practical, dependable, organized, and personally invested in the quality of the work. You do not need 20 years in the trade to be considered. If you are licensed, capable, driven, and already know how to run a job, we want to hear from you.
Mechtrix is a small industrial electrical and controls company where you will work directly with the owner, have a real say in how jobs are handled, and be trusted to make decisions. There is also significant room to grow as the company expands, including leading larger projects, training employees, and taking on more responsibility over time.
The Work
Our customers are primarily small industrial facilities, agricultural operations, rural businesses, and equipment manufacturers.
The work is varied and may include:
- Electrical service and installation work in small industrial Agricultural and commercial facilities.
- Distribution, panel, feeder, lighting, and receptacle installations
- Machinery installations, relocations, and equipment connections
- Motors, pumps, fans, VFDs, and basic control systems
- Troubleshooting electrical equipment and facility systems
- Service upgrades, renovations, and facility expansions
- Working alongside our controls and automation technicians on larger or more specialized projects
We are not trying to compete for large subdivision or high-rise construction work. Our strength is helping small customers with practical electrical problems where good judgment, experience, and problem-solving matter.
What We Need From You
You must be able to run a job, not just perform electrical work.
That includes:
- Reviewing the job and planning how it should be completed
- Creating accurate material lists
- Organizing labour and assigning work
- Communicating clearly with customers
- Coordinating with suppliers, inspectors, and other trades
- Recognizing problems before they become expensive
- Keeping the job moving without sacrificing safety or workmanship
- Teaching and directing apprentices
- Taking responsibility for the final result
You will have support when you need it, but we also need someone who is comfortable making decisions and moving forward.
Qualifications

Experience with motors, VFDs, machinery, controls, PLCs, or automation is an asset, but it is not required. If you are interested in controls and automation, there will be opportunities to learn from our people who work with those systems every day.
Who Will Enjoy Working Here
You may be a strong fit if you:

- Prefer being trusted over being micromanaged
- Enjoy solving problems and figuring out the best way to complete a job
