Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Technician to join our team in a dairy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and facility areas to support food safety, quality, and operational standards.
This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment and who take pride in maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of production equipment and facility areas
- Execute CIP (Clean-in-Place) and COP (Clean-out-of-Place) procedures
- Clean tanks, processing equipment, coolers, , floors, drains and production rooms
- Safely handle sanitation chemicals and follow WHMIS procedures
- Complete sanitation records, logs, and checklists accurately
- Support food safety, GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements
- Report sanitation, safety, or equipment concerns to the Supervisor or Team Leader
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements
- Support deep cleaning and sanitation projects as required
- Dispose of waste materials properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Adhere to company policies regarding sanitation procedures and health regulations
- Flexibility to work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts based on production requirements
Qualifications
- Previous sanitation or food manufacturing experience is considered an asset
- Experience in dairy or food processing environments is preferred
- Knowledge of CIP/COP systems is an asset
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Ability to safely operate cleaning and sanitation equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures and workplace safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work safely with chemicals and follow WHMIS procedures
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive movements, standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and comply with health and safety procedures
