Job Summary
The Caretaker, Facility Operations role is based at the Lethbridge Trade & Convention Centre, a dynamic, multi-use facility that operates year-round and hosts a wide variety of events ranging from large-scale exhibitions and conventions to community gatherings and agricultural programming. As part of a fast-paced, event-driven environment, this position plays a key role in ensuring the venue remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all guests, clients, and staff
This role involves mostly indoor work. Duties regularly require physical activity, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating industrial cleaning equipment.
Duties
- Work within established caretaking procedures.
- Operate Industrial Vacuums and Power Scrubbers including walk behind and riding equipment.
- Washing of windows, interior and exterior walls.
- Dusting various surfaces
- Empty waste, recycling, and organic receptacles.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax/seal hallways, offices, rooms, open spaces, and stairs.
- Complete cleaning and disinfecting of all washrooms, showers, and change room spaces.
- Clean sidewalks, entryways, exits, and stairways of debris and waste.
- Assist in the moving of equipment and supplies necessary for the job.
- Support full time, part time and contract maintenance staff
- Assist in ensuring safety and security of venue.
- Working with various cleaning chemicals – WHMIS is an asset
Qualifications
- · High school or technical school diploma or combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- · 2-3 years of experience in a multi-use facility is an asset
- · Ability to problem solve in high-pressure situations
- · Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- · Demonstrated knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and Email
- · Must be able to work daytime/evening/ weekends and overnights.
- · You may be required to work on holidays.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
This position is suitable for reliable individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. Prior experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance is a plus, but training will be provided where necessary.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
