Whistle Bear Golf Club is seeking motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our Turf team. Crew members play a vital role in maintaining the golf course conditions, ensuring an exceptional experience for members and guests. This position involves hands-on outdoor work, early mornings, and teamwork in a fast-paced, professional golf environment.
Ideal Candidate
A highly skilled baker with a passion for creating beautifully crafted desserts and baked goods in an upscale restaurant environment. They should possess strong technical skills in pastry preparation, an eye for detail, and creativity to enhance the menu. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, works well under pressure, and has a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform daily course maintenance duties including mowing greens, tees, fairways, and rough
- Rake bunkers, trim around hazards, and maintain landscaped areas
- Assist with course setup, including hole changing and tee marker placement
- Operate and maintain turf equipment safely and efficiently
- Repair divots, ball marks, and other turf damage
- Assist with irrigation, drainage, and general course improvements
- Follow all safety procedures and environmental best practices
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to uphold Whistle Bear’s high standards
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency during peak periods while remaining poised and seek additional tasks during slower periods.
- Accept instruction and direction well, using feedback to make real improvements.
What we would like you to bring to the position:
- Previous golf course or landscape maintenance experience is an asset, but not required
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of performing manual labor (lifting, walking, standing for
- extended periods)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license is an asset but not required
Work Schedule
- Early morning starts (typically 5:00–6:00 a.m.)
- Full time is Monday-Friday and every other weekend (mornings only)
- Part Time is 15-30 hours per week. May include weekends as necessary
