The Public Works Technician position is responsible for conducting a variety of work related to the daily operation and maintenance of Town facilities and infrastructure. Generally, the position performs a broad range of tasks supporting the operation and maintenance of the following service areas; transportation services (streets & sidewalks), water treatment & distribution, wastewater collection & treatment, parks & open spaces, and electrical utility.
Experience/Skills
Applicants should have experience in operating gas and electric groundskeeping equipment Ability to operate heavy equipment Miscellaneous power tools and equipment Valid Class 5 NS driver’s license. Basic carpentry, painting skills, mechanical, pipe fitting and electronic skills considered an asset.
