Job Description
Cashier Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers, answer their questions, help them locate items and provide advice or recommendations when requested
- Gardening knowledge an asset but willing to train the right candidate
- Operate scanners, cash registers and other electronics
- Work a POS system to facilitate cash, debit card and credit card purchases. Balance the cash register
- Accept payments, ensure all prices and quantities are accurate and issue a receipt to every customer
- Process refunds and exchanges
- Resolve customer complaints
- Bag or wrap items to ensure safe transport
- Maintain a clean workspace
- Must be able to work independently and follow direction well
- Facilitate a positive and supportive working environment
Cashier Requirements:
- Able to lift 40 lbs. - moving stock, unloading plants, carrying pots
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Customer service and/or Cashier experience
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
- High level of energy with strong customer service skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Helpful, courteous approach to resolving complaints
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: From $18.25 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24.0 per week
