About you
The Intermediate Accountant, Property Accounting plays a key role in supporting the financial management of Salthill Property Management Inc.’s commercial and retail property portfolio. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation processes while maintaining compliance with company standards and accounting principles. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Property Managers, Asset Managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial information that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
The expected compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 annually. While the full range is posted for transparency, our target for this role is typically at the midpoint of the range. The final salary will be based on candidate skills, education, and relevant experience as they relate to the role.

You as an Intermediate Accountant, Property Accounting will:
· Month-end/Recurring journal entries
· Preparation of monthly reporting packages (including financial statements)
· Preparation of quarterly reporting packages (including financial statements, work papers and supporting schedules)
· Intercompany charge backs
· Tenant account reconciliations
· Preparation of annual budget
· Preparation of annual final CAM and Tax billing/lease review
· Preparation of annual year-end audit working papers and liaison with auditors during field work period
· Preparation of tenant/vendor chargebacks as needed
· Liaise with Property Managers and Asset Managers regarding related accounting matters
· Cash flow management and cash calls when required, updating rent rolls and collection management
· Other duties as assigned
Is this the right role for you? You will bring:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise financial reports.
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and resolve discrepancies.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Property Managers and Asset Managers.
Education:
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
· Preference will be given to individuals with a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation. Completed or in progress.
Experience:
· 2-4 years of hands-on experience in property accounting, preferably within commercial or retail real estate.
· Strong familiarity with property management/accounting software; MRI preferred is a strong asset.
