What You Will Be Doing
As a Commercial Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and growing strategic client relationships across Alberta. Reporting to the Director of Summit Fleet, you'll act as a trusted advisor to organizations seeking commercial fleet leasing and fleet management solutions.
This role is ideal for an experienced consultative sales professional who thrives on prospecting, relationship-building, and helping clients solve complex business challenges. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, you'll leverage Summit Fleet's comprehensive suite of fleet solutions to drive revenue growth while delivering exceptional customer experiences throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to grow commercial fleet leasing and fleet management sales.
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across Alberta and Western Canada.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, fleet managers, procurement teams, municipal organizations, non-profits, and executive decision-makers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial accounts.
- Understand client operational objectives and recommend customized fleet solutions that improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Present professional proposals, vehicle leasing solutions, and pricing models to stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
- Manage the sales process from prospecting and lead generation through contract negotiation and implementation.
- Support clients throughout the vehicle and contract lifecycle, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Coordinate with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Service teams to deliver exceptional client support.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, account, and sales activity reporting within CRM platforms.
- Stay informed on industry trends, fleet management best practices, transportation technologies, and competitive market activity.
- Achieve and exceed individual sales, revenue, and customer retention targets.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of successful B2B sales, commercial account management, business development, or strategic sales experience.
- Experience in fleet management, vehicle leasing, commercial transportation, automotive, logistics, equipment rental, or a related industry is considered a strong asset.
- Proven track record of developing new business and consistently exceeding sales targets.
- Strong network of business contacts within Alberta and the ability to build new relationships quickly.
- Experience presenting to executive, C-suite, and senior decision-makers.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify client needs and deliver value-driven solutions.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to grow a book of business.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with an acceptable driver's abstract.
- Postsecondary education in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel throughout Canada as required.
