Reporting to the Director, Development and Project Delivery, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of renewable energy projects through all phases, including development, construction, and commissioning.
The incumbent acts as the central point of coordination between internal and external multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the effective management of technical, social, environmental, and financial considerations to deliver high-performing projects that are supported by local communities and aligned with Kruger Energy’s business objectives.
In an environment where projects must be seamlessly integrated into host communities, this role requires the ability to balance technical performance, economic viability, and social acceptability.
Overall Project Management
Plan, structure, and lead the full project lifecycle, including development, construction, commissioning, and handover to operations.
Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and performance indicators.
Ensure proactive management of project risks and opportunities.
Effectively coordinate all internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, environmental, procurement, finance, and project partners.
Ensure decisions are aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives and governance framework.
Technical Coordination and Understanding of Project Challenges
Lead and integrate contributions from technical teams, including engineering, environmental studies, interconnection, and construction.
Understand and critically assess key technical analyses, including:
Resource assessments (wind, solar, hydro);
Feasibility and cost studies (CAPEX/OPEX);
Detailed engineering and design solutions.
Support decision-making by evaluating the impact of technical considerations on project costs, schedules, and risks.
Ensure the quality and overall consistency of technical deliverables.
Social and Regulatory Stakeholder Management
Lead social acceptability initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities involving municipalities, communities, landowners, and regulatory authorities.
Contribute to public consultation and communication strategies.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
Work closely with environmental and legal teams.
Financial and Economic Management
Develop and manage development and construction budgets.
Analyze costs and optimize procurement and execution strategies.
Contribute to project financing structures by incorporating risk assessments.
Participate in financial analysis and investment decision-making processes.
Leadership and Team Management
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external.
Foster effective collaboration among all project functions.
Provide effective oversight of consultants and project partners.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project management best practices across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (Master’s degree considered an asset).
Minimum of 10 years of experience managing renewable energy projects (wind, solar, hydro, or other renewable energy technologies).
Significant experience leading large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP certification or equivalent considered an asset).
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Solid understanding of the technical aspects of energy projects, including engineering, construction, interconnection, and operational performance.
Ability to interpret and challenge complex technical studies and analyses.
Proven ability to navigate multi-stakeholder and politically sensitive environments.
Strong understanding of the economic and financial models underlying renewable energy projects.

Knowledge of regulatory and permitting processes (BAPE, permits, interconnection requirements, etc.) is considered an asset.
Bilingualism essential: spoken and written (English - French)
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
