We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Permanent Part-Time Warehouse Sorter to join our team. This role involves assisting with various warehouse operations, including sorting, loading, scanning and staging freight for delivery trucks. The ideal candidate will have some warehouse experience including the ability to be trained to operate a forklift, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position offers opportunity to grow into a driver position. Must have a clean driver's abstract and MVR and minimum 2 years driving G license, preference for those applicants with past experience driving commercial vehicles.
Duties
- Sorting and organising incoming and outgoing freight items within the warehouse
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Inspecting forklift and creating reports.
- Scanning freight and accurately recording information on delivery paperwork.
- Managing shipping and receiving documentation to ensure proper tracking of freight
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Supporting warehouse management with stock control and inventory checks
- Performing basic mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential
- Valid forklift licence is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Good physical fitness to handle manual tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy setting
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles is essential
- Must be able to work from early mornings from Tuesdays to Saturdays.
