Cafe Malabar Restaurant & Bar is hiring both a Chef de Partie and a Cook 1 to join our kitchen team.
We are a chef-led restaurant inspired by the cuisine of the Malabar Coast of Kerala, presented through a refined West Coast lens. Led by Chefs Kiran and Karma, recognized as Victoria’s 2025 Chefs of the Year, our kitchen is focused on quality ingredients, consistency, and a strong, respectful team environment.
We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, are open to feedback, and want to grow within a professional kitchen.
Cook 1
Responsibilities:
- Support prep and service across stations
- Follow recipes and kitchen systems consistently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization
- Assist team during high volume service
- Continue learning and developing kitchen skills
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and team mindset
Compensation: $18.25–$20.00 per hour + participation in tip pool
Schedule: Full-time hours, Afternoons and evenings, Wednesday through Sunday
