Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of materials and products throughout the production facility. This role involves receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure efficient production operations. The Forklift Operator plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production schedules, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and transport raw materials, components, and finished products within the production facility.
- Supply production lines with necessary materials and remove finished goods according to production schedules.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Required to record, label, weight production and testing scrap in buggies and must place in designated area on production floor
- Report discrepancies or damaged materials to the supervisor
- Organize and maintain the warehouse and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Label and store materials according to established procedures to ensure easy retrieval and minimize damage.
- Assist in maintaining proper stock levels by coordinating with the production teams.
- Inspect incoming materials for quality and compliance with specifications before storing them in designated areas.
- Ensure that materials are properly stored and handled to prevent contamination or damage.
- Assist in quality control checks by providing accurate and timely materials to production teams.
- Maintain accurate records of all material movements, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
- Communicate effectively with production supervisors and other team members regarding material needs and issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct routine inspections of material handling equipment and report any malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
- Assist in production setups and changeovers by providing the necessary materials and support.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and prevent production delays.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support overall production goals.
Job Specifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in warehouse management or logistics is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a material handling or warehouse role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment; forklift certification required.
- Ability to use the scanner to move around raw materials/scarp
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems and procedures.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- The position requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
Multiple shifts available:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
