Age Group Coach — Nose Creek Swim Association (Airdrie, AB)
Nose Creek Swim Association, Airdrie's original competitive swim club since 1994, is looking for an Age Group Coach to join our coaching team.
Who we're looking for:
We want a coach who genuinely enjoys being on the pool deck and brings a positive, encouraging presence to every practice. You lead with encouragement, not just correction. You believe a great attitude and hard work go hand in hand, and you know that swimmers who feel supported are swimmers who improve.
You're someone who:
● Builds genuine relationships with athletes and makes practice something they look forward to
● Coaches with a positive, can-do attitude, day in and day out
● Holds athletes to a high standard while making sure they feel supported getting there
● Understands that development takes patience — you coach the swimmer in front of you, not just the clock
● Thrives in a team environment and adds to a culture of positivity among staff and swimmers alike
● Has 2–3 years of coaching experience and a genuine passion for the sport
What you'll be doing:
You'll coach one of our Age Group squads, delivering practices built on Swimming Canada's Athlete Development Matrix (ADM) framework, working alongside a supportive coaching staff, and helping shape swimmers' long-term relationship with the sport — not just their times. This is a 30–40 hour/week position.
The atmosphere you'll be joining:
NCSA isn't just a swim club — it's a community. We operate across 5 pools with a competitive roster currently around 150 swimmers and growing toward our goal of 180, plus roughly 200 learn-to-swim enrollees — giving you the resources and support of an established, growing program without losing that close-knit, everybody-knows-everybody feel. Our coaching staff genuinely enjoys working together — we lean on each other, celebrate wins together, and support one another day in and day out. You'll have access to mentorship from experienced coaches, opportunities for professional development (including pathways like Swim Alberta's Discover Camp and Future Coaches Program), and a club culture where effort, attitude, and connection matter as much as the stopwatch. If you're looking for a place where coaching feels less like a job and more like a team you're proud to be part of, this is it.
Qualifications:
● Minimum NCCP Swimming 101 certification; NCCP Swimming 201 preferred
● 2–3 years of age group or competitive swim coaching experience
● Current (or willing to obtain) First Aid/CPR-C certification
● Clean criminal record check / vulnerable sector check
● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for meet travel)
● Strong communication skills with athletes and parents
● A collaborative, team-first mindset
● Availability for a 30–40 hour work week, including evenings and some weekends for meets
