Our client is a large-scale underground mining joint venture in the Sudbury Basin focused on the development of critical mineral resources. This is a contract position – scheduled until mid 2027.

About the Role:
The Mobile Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities for underground and surface mobile equipment. This role ensures maintenance work is effectively coordinated to maximize equipment availability, reliability, and safety while minimizing operational downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop maintenance work plans for mobile mining equipment including loaders, haul trucks, drills, bolters, utility vehicles, and support equipment.
- Coordinate weekly and monthly maintenance schedules with operations and maintenance teams.
- Estimate labour, materials, tooling, and contractor requirements for planned maintenance activities.
- Support major equipment rebuilds, shutdowns, and component replacement programs.
- Maintain accurate CMMS records including work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and equipment history.
- Coordinate procurement and availability of parts and services required for scheduled work.
- Monitor maintenance progress and adjust schedules as required to meet operational priorities.
- Analyze equipment history and recommend maintenance and spare parts strategies.
- Generate maintenance performance reports and support budget forecasting.
- Maintain equipment documentation, manuals, and technical records.
Qualifications
- College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician trade qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience with heavy mobile mining or industrial equipment.
- Previous maintenance planning experience considered an asset.
- Experience using CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of maintenance planning, reliability practices, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
