Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for artistic cake design and a strong background in food preparation and customer service. The Cake Decorator will play a vital role in delivering exceptional products and memorable experiences to our customers.
Duties
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications, utilizing various techniques and tools
- Prepare cake fillings, frostings, and decorative elements with precision and creativity
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards and presentation requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist in baking and food preparation tasks as needed to support the kitchen team
- Package finished products carefully for delivery or pickup, ensuring proper handling and presentation
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their orders and offering product recommendations
- Follow all food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or related food industry roles
- Strong skills in cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and creative design
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, and general kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous restaurant or bakery experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Food industry experience including baking, packaging, and food presentation is highly desirable
