We're the everything store for childcare. From our 100,000 square-foot national warehousing system, we supply daycares, preschools, schools, and before & after school programs across Canada with over 10,000 products, from food and disposables to furniture, toys, and sensory equipment. Our fleet of 15 refrigerated trucks and vans, backed by a network of distribution partners, gets orders to our customers' doorsteps. We care about relationships as much as products, and we're looking for someone who feels the same.
We are looking for an Operations and Delivery Coordinator to join our team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role and you are the reason our deliveries go out on time. You will confirm every route is covered, solve driver availability problems on the spot, and keep customers informed through our customer service team when things change. Throughout the day, you're the go-to contact for drivers on the road.
Key Responsibilities
- Confirm all delivery routes are fully covered each morning; reassign routes when drivers are unavailable and work with customer service to notify customers of any delays
- Monitor the routing application to assign drivers to routes, track daily usage, and maintain the application on an ongoing basis
- Stay reachable during the shift as the point of contact for drivers and delivery communication
- Ensure that the previous day's drivers' checklists have been completed and update trackers for compliance and 407 usages
- Arrange deliveries outside our delivery zone through third-party delivery partners, and keep customer service and sales informed of customer requirements
- Coordinate carrier arrangements for cross-border inbound purchase orders
- Systematically process and receive inbound purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely entry into the warehouse management system
- Act as the liaison between the night shift and day shift fulfillment teams, ensuring proper handoff and coordination of sales orders
- Work closely with warehouse pickers on Sales Order consolidation so orders reach the customer service team as quickly as possible
- Assist with picking and receiving when operational needs require it
- Invoice sales orders upon fulfillment completion
- Complete inventory cycle counts when requested by purchasing or operations
- Work closely with operations on fleet repairs, maintenance and inspections and be able to cover scheduling during absences and vacations
- Prepare and distribute previous and current day delivery and fulfillment reports, as well as end of shift reports
- Work under the direction of the Warehouse Manager to ensure daily operational goals are met
- Take on other duties as assigned to support the operations team
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch, delivery operations, or warehousing (preferred)
- Forklift certification, a valid G licence, and experience with routing or warehouse management software are all assets
- Calm, clear communication under time pressure
- Comfortable working independently in the early morning
- The ability to work in refrigerated environments
- Ability to lift 50 lbs; this role involves periods of walking and standing
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
