Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Skilled Labourer/Electrician to join our team. This role involves performing electrical installations, maintenance, and renovation projects across various construction and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, construction, and handyman tasks, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a range of power tools and hand tools, while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Applicants should be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings, including low voltage wiring and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical projects accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform electrical work efficiently and safely.
- Assist with renovation projects, including demolition, framing, wiring, and finishing tasks as needed.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues by diagnosing problems with schematics or system components.
- Perform basic construction tasks such as installing fixtures, conduits, switches, outlets, and other electrical components.
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial electrician work or construction-related electrical projects.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring systems and general electrical code requirements.
- Construction experience including renovation projects is highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing electrical issues using schematics or system knowledge.
- Handyman experience is a plus for versatile task execution.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in electrical work are preferred but not mandatory depending on project requirements.
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
