Swim Instructor — Private In-Home Lessons
$35–$50/hour · Greater Vancouver · Flexible schedule
Imagine teaching one swimmer at a time in a quiet backyard pool instead of shouting over a crowded public lane. That’s every lesson with us. Swim Lessons Vancouver is growing, and we’re looking for experienced instructors who want to do their best teaching, without the admin work.
About Us
Swim Lessons Vancouver provides premium private swim lessons in residential and condo pools across Greater Vancouver. Families come to us for personalized instruction they can’t get at community centres, and they stay: most clients book packages of 5–10 lessons with the same instructor.
The Role
You’ll teach private and small-group lessons at clients’ pools, working with kids, teens, and adults from first-time swimmers to advanced technique work. You set your own service area and availability; we send you consistent, committed students close to home.
What you’ll do:
- Teach private and small-group lessons at clients’ residential and condo pools
- Build clear, progressive lesson plans tailored to each swimmer
- Give parents and adult learners brief progress updates after lessons
- Maintain a safe, positive, and professional environment at every visit
What We Offer
- $35–$50 per teaching hour, based on experience and location
- Zero business admin — we handle marketing, client leads, scheduling, and package sales. You just teach.
- Your schedule, your area — choose where you work and when you’re available
- Consistent students — clients typically book 5–10 lesson packages, so you build real relationships and steady income
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 5+ years of formal swim teaching experience
- Current swim instructor certification (Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Award or equivalent)
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR
- Liability insurance (or willingness to obtain it — we can point you in the right direction)
- Strong water safety skills and confidence teaching all levels
- Reliable transportation and professional communication
- Availability during peak times: after school, evenings, and/or weekends
Nice to have:
- National Lifeguard (NLS) certification
- Experience with water-anxious swimmers
- Experience coaching adults on stroke technique
