Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the set-up, operation and minor maintenance of machines in the production area and execute maintenance activities as assigned. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of facility infrastructure, warehouse equipment, and in a fast‑paced, temperature‑controlled food environment.
Responsibilities
1. Facility Maintenance
- Carry out hands-on repairs to the warehouse and office facility (plumbing, electrical, structural, refrigeration minor fixes, doors, lighting, etc.)
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to proactively identify and address maintenance issues before they escalate
- Liaise with licensed tradespeople and contractors for work requiring external expertise
- Ensure the facility meets safety, health, and regulatory standards at all times
- Manage and prioritize the maintenance request queue across all facility areas
2. Equipment Maintenance
- Regular maintenance, servicing, and repair of industrial equipment / machinery
- Schedule and track preventive maintenance for equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and service providers as assigned
- Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and fit for operation at all times
3. Preventive Maintenance & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, service records, and repair histories
- Own and maintain user master lists for all equipment and assets including operator assignments, service history, and certification status
- Track parts inventory
- Prepare maintenance reports and flag recurring issues or needs to manager
4. General
- Respond to breakdown or emergency maintenance situations promptly
- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with applicable regulations
Requirements and Skills
- Previous experience of 3-5 years, preferably in a food production or produce-related environment, is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a machine operator.
- Knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools.
- Understanding the production procedures.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow the daily production schedule and manuals.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
