Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Carpenter / Deck Builder to join our team. This role is best suited for someone who is confident running jobs, working efficiently, and maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Build decks from start to finish (framing, decking, stairs, railings)
- Complete material takeoffs for assigned projects
- Install aluminum and glass railing systems
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Communicate professionally with team members and clients
- Stay on assigned jobs until completion (excluding material delays)
Requirements
- Journeyman Carpenter preferred
- Minimum 2+ years deck building or carpentry experience
- Willing to train the right candidate
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workflow
- Must supply own tools and transportation
- Must carry valid liability insurance and WCB coverage
- Experience with composite decking (Fiberon preferred) is an asset
- Ability to complete accurate material and railing takeoffs
Work Expectations
- Once assigned to a project, you are expected to stay on the job until completion
- You are responsible for:
- Picking up railing/material orders
- Managing your own materials and takeoffs
- Disposing of construction debris (or using company disposal service if needed)

- Must maintain a respectful attitude with clients and crew
- Strong communication is expected
Safety
- Safety is a top priority
- Must follow all safety practices and wear appropriate PPE
Compensation
- Pay is issued on the 15th and 30th of each month
- Cut-off for payment is one week prior
- Compensation based on experience and role (hourly or subcontract rates)
