Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest safety standards. Candidates must possess strong driving skills and be capable of handling heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading cargo.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company truck to deliver goods to designated locations within scheduled timeframes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload cargo, often involving heavy lifting, with proper handling techniques
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management for resolution
- Ensure the security of cargo during transit and at delivery points
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must have driving experience with a 32-foot gooseneck trailer..
- Excellent English communication skills for coordination with dispatchers and clients
- Proven experience driving heavy vehicles, including trucks requiring heavy lifting skills for cargo handling
- Ability to perform and carry out maintenance on the vehicle will be an asset.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when loading or unloading goods
- Strong driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to traffic regulations
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules
- Physical ability to handle long hours on the road and perform manual tasks associated with cargo handling
- Must reside in the local area, as we are not looking to relocate anyone.
- During downtime, lending a hand in the shop or yard is expected.
- Assisting management and journeyperson as needed.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
