Job title: Occupational Health Technician (Fort McMurray Clinic and/or Site Services)
The Occupational Health Technician will primarily be responsible for conducting Drug & Alcohol Tests, Audiometric tests (hearing tests), Pulmonary Function tests (lung tests), and Mask-Fit testing. This role is seeking a professional individual with great interpersonal skills. The individual must be willing to complete certifications in order to become a certified Technician in Audiometry and Spirometry. You will be provided with great mentorship in a friendly atmosphere. This role also requires the individual to travel to sites and work from a mobile trailer occasionally.
Position type: This role is a Full-Time position, and afterhour call-ins. Our Clinic is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Must be willing to do afterhour calls for Drug and Alcohol testing. Must be willing to work cross shifts. Must have Drug and Alcohol Technician Experience and Audiometric certified or enrollment into program.
Job Functions:
Primary responsibilities include: Conducting Drug and Alcohol Testing, Performing Audiometric tests, performing Pulmonary function tests and Mask-fit testing. *Must come with Experience.
Other duties include:
- Booking appointments and other administrative duties such as filing, and telephone answering.
- Ensure accuracy of paperwork completion.
- Excellent Customer service
- Maintaining Medika North’s privacy/confidentiality policies and procedures under each program, and overall Clinic/Mobile Standards.
- Maintain employee health records.
- Ability to multi-task within a dynamic environment & work collaboratively with Occupational Health Nurses and Physicians.
- Ability to understand and provide cultural sensitivity towards our clients.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Must be confident to operate/drive Mobile Testing Van or Company Vehicles.
- All Internal policy/procedural training provided.
Education:
- Audiometric Certification from a certified Alberta Provider
- Spirometry Certification from a certified Alberta Provider
- Valid CPR
- Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) from an accredited Provider
- CSC DOT Urine from an accredited Provider
- CSA Respirator Fit Testing course considered an asset
Experience:
We are in search of an experienced individual with at least 6 months’ experience in an Occupational Health Setting. Must have strong work ethic, punctuality and professional positive demeanor.
