Packaging and Fulfillment Team Member

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Finishing and Shipping, the Packaging and Fulfillment team member is responsible for executing a variety of finishing and kitting tasks. Pending skills and company requirements, the position may include operating machinery and equipment used to cut carboard for packaging materials.
This role is critical to our finishing and cutting processes and requires the individual to follow specific packing instructions and Category 5 standards you will accurately assemble or combine, and carefully package printed and cut materials.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read and accurately understand production dockets.
- Understand the required materials. Locate and retrieve the requirement inventory materials.
- Apply tape, folding, packing, kitting, and assembling printed products according to client specifications.
- Properly label and organize final packages in accordance with shipping processes.
- You will be expected to follow and adhere to the instructions from the Finishing Manager that will dictate your daily work schedule.
- Move finished product from between buildings, occasionally via company provided vehicle, with a focus on end of day transport of the afternoon shift print to the finishing building.
- Pack finished products securely to ensure no damage in transit.
- Collaborate with Prepress and Customer Service to understand finishing and cutting requirements.
- Quality check finished products to meet client expectations.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking materials used.
- With an eye for accuracy and detail, ensure production matches the production docket specifications and meets customer and quality specifications.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Inspect laminated materials for defects, adjusting as needed, and trim excess material for clean edges.
General Daily Tasks:
- Contribute to working in a safe manner by following all Health and Safety and Category 5 procedures.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Communicate issues that will affect job timeline and or quality of work.
- Record all required information in Pace, the company docket system.
- Communicate and work with afternoon printing team to help assist with production if required.
- Communicate with day shift Print Supervisor to understand print schedule for your subsequent shift and proactively prepare equipment and resources, as required.
- Adhere to and consistently follow all company processes, policies, and procedures to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of Category 5.
- Actively participate in and complete all company-wide training programs and initiatives to enhance professional development and alignment with Category 5’s standards and objectives.

Qualifications:
- Physically fit and capable of handling different types of material weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Finisher or similar role in manufacturing, printing, or packaging environment. Experience working with a Printing company would be an asset.
- Knowledge of different finishing and cutting equipment and their operation.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Good command of the English language (written and verbal). Ability to read and interpret multi-step technical specifications.
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
