Company Overview:
Scotia Garden Seafood is a harvester, producer and distributor of high-quality fish and seafood products. Our growing company is Yarmouth-based, with operations across Southwest Nova Scotia. This position is based at Scotia Garden Seafood’s meal and oil division.
Position Summary
Millwrights participate in maintaining all production equipment at Scotia Garden Seafood’s by-products operation.
Position Information:
- Full-time, permanent position with competitive hourly rate, from $33 per hour depending on qualifications/experience.
- Overtime may be required.

- Based at our rendering facility at 105 Short Beach Road, Short Beach.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participate in maintenance operations involving processing equipment, pumps, air compressors, hydraulics, electrical, and mobile equipment.
- Installation and assembly of machinery as needed according to specifications
- Identify potential issues by conducting inspections and troubleshooting equipment
- Complete and maintain reports and logs
- Contribute to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in work areas
- Ensure adequate parts and supplies are stocked to avoid delays
- Other duties as required
Work Environment
This position is performed within the manufacturing facility. When in the facility, the individual may be subject to loud noise and variable temperatures. They will be required to wear the appropriate CSA approved personal protective equipment and other garments as set out in the company policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
- Millwright certification with relevant experience
- Industrial experience is an asset
- Self-motivated and a willingness to learn
- Participate in maintaining a positive, healthy, and safe work environment
