Job Summary
Founded by an OCT certified teacher, Scholars Nest Learning Center provides curriculum aligned supplementary education. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Tutor to inspire students and help them unlock their full potential in mathematics. In this role, you will provide personalized tutoring sessions designed to improve understanding, boost confidence, and foster a love for learning math. Your energy and passion will motivate students to overcome challenges and achieve academic success. Duties
- Deliver engaging, one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions focused on various math topics, including algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and Elementary Math
- Assess students’ current understanding and tailor lessons to meet their individual needs and learning styles
- Use effective teaching methods and educational technology to clarify complex concepts and solve problems
- Track student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, or school staff to align tutoring strategies with academic goals
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that builds students’ confidence in their math abilities
- Incorporate computer skills and educational software to enhance the learning experience
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or students in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of math concepts across multiple grade levels and courses
- Proven tutoring or teaching experience, especially in classroom environments or special education settings an asset
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with educational technology tools or software
- Background in classroom experience or teaching mathematics is highly desirable
- Must be able to reliably commute to the Center location
