Field Technician – Remote Geological Field Work
Minerals Canada Exploration Inc. is hiring 2 Field Technicians for remote geological surveying and exploration work across Northern Canada.

Position Details
- Starting Pay: $250/day
- Potential for higher compensation based on relevant experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability
- Start Date: Approximately September 15, 2026
- Initial Rotation: Approximately 28 days
- Typical Rotation: 28 days on / 1–2 weeks off
- Travel: Paid by Minerals Canada Exploration Inc.
- Accommodation: Hotels, mine camps, and bush camps provided
- Meals: Provided while in the field
- Experience: Not required – we will train the right applicants
The Work
This is a physically demanding remote field position. Our crews work outdoors every day, regardless of weather, including rain, snow, wind, heat, and cold.
Field work is often conducted deep in the wilderness, far from towns, roads, and immediate access to emergency services. Employees must be comfortable working alone in the bush and able to make safe decisions independently.
Field days can run from sunrise to sunset, with long days required depending on project needs.
Day-to-day duties may include:
- Pre-inspecting vehicles, machinery, and field equipment.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Setting up geological and surveying sites.
- Walking survey loops and checking, repairing, or maintaining wire.
- Hiking through forests, hills, mountains, swamps, and difficult terrain.
- Carrying field equipment and supplies.
- Working with equipment such as snowshoes, side-by-sides, and snowmobiles.
- Assisting with geological surveying and exploration activities.
- Following all safety procedures and working safely in remote environments.
Equipment and duties vary depending on the project.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, physically demanding job. Applicants must be capable of:
- Hiking 15 km+ per day when required.
- Hiking through steep hills, mountains, swamps, forests, and uneven terrain.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Walking and working for extended periods throughout the day.
- Working safely in wet, muddy, snowy, hot, cold, and windy conditions.
- Working in wet boots and clothing when terrain and weather require it.
What We're Looking For
No previous geological experience is required. We will train the right candidates.
Applicants must:
- Be comfortable working alone in remote wilderness.
- Be safety-conscious and able to make good decisions independently.
- Have a valid driver's licence.
- Be computer literate and able to read and write.
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Be able to work long days and under pressure when required.
- Be dependable and work well both independently and as part of a crew.
- Be comfortable spending extended periods away from home.
- Be physically capable of safely performing strenuous field duties.
Previous experience in mining, geological exploration, surveying, forestry, construction, heavy equipment, ATV/side-by-side operation, snowmobile operation, wilderness work, or remote camps is considered an asset but is not required.
Compensation
The starting rate for this position is $250 per day, with the potential for higher compensation based on relevant experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability.
Compensation may be adjusted based on relevant field experience, qualifications, and job performance.
