Ignite Construction Limited (ICL) is a Richmond-based, Canadian-owned renovation and construction company serving Richmond, Vancouver and Burnaby. Our work includes bathrooms, tile and shower surrounds, carpentry, decks, exterior repairs, framing, drywall, flooring and commercial/strata improvements. Licensed electrical, plumbing and HVAC work is completed by qualified subcontractors.
Position Summary
ICL is hiring a practical renovation carpenter who can move between framing, repairs and finishing. This role requires clean workmanship, good judgment in occupied homes and responsibility for the finished result.
Responsibilities
- Frame and modify non-load-bearing walls, backing, openings, stairs, decks and repair assemblies to approved scope.
- Install doors, jambs, casing, baseboard, trim, blocking and cabinetry adjustments.
- Complete deck, fascia, sheathing, siding-detail, wood-rot and weather-damage repairs.
- Read measurements/sketches, prepare cut/material lists and identify hidden or missing scope early.
- Coordinate with the site manager, helpers and licensed subcontractors.
- Protect occupied spaces, control dust, clean daily and document progress.
Required
- 3+ years of relevant renovation carpentry, or equivalent demonstrated skill.
- Accurate and safe use of common hand/power tools.
- Valid driver's licence, reliable vehicle and core hand/cordless tools.
- Professional, punctual, reliable and safety-minded conduct.
- Ability to work independently on assigned scopes and raise concealed conditions before cover-up.
Preferred assets
- Deck, stair, railing, envelope or wood-rot repair.
- Drywall, flooring, cabinets, concrete-forming or masonry support.
- Experience planning small scopes or directing a helper.
- Trade certification/apprenticeship history.
Paid assessment
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a paid, supervised 4-8 hour skills assessment. The assessment wage and hours will be confirmed in writing. ICL does not use unpaid productive tryouts.
