Role Overview
We’re looking for a cheerful, sales-driven Mission Ambassadors / Sales Associate who loves connecting with people and telling stories. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys retail, merchandising, and supporting local businesses.
As a Mission Ambassadors/ Sales Associate, you’ll be expected to learn our vendors and their products, confidently guide customers in their buying decisions, and help maintain beautiful, well-stocked displays on behalf of our vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Sales
- Greet and assist customers in a warm, friendly, and engaging manner
- Learn and confidently speak about our 90+ vendors, their stories, and their products
- Help customers make informed buying decisions and encourage add-on sales
- Represent The Local’s mission and values in every customer interaction
Vendor Support
- Act as a brand ambassador for our vendors while they are not in-store
- Assist with restocking and organizing vendor products as needed
- Communicate product feedback, low stock, or display needs to management
- Treat vendor inventory with care and attention to detail
Merchandising & Store Standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays
- Assist with merchandising changes and seasonal refreshes
- Ensure pricing, signage, and product placement are accurate
- Help keep the store tidy, welcoming, and on-brand at all times
Operations
- Process sales through POS system accurately
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required
- Follow store procedures and policies

- Comfortable speaking with customers and recommending products
- Interest in retail, merchandising, and local businesses
- Willingness to learn and remember details about many different vendors
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
Retail or sales experience is an asset, but personality, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn matter most.
