Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest services, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop hospitality skills and be an integral part of a thriving food service environment. Prior food industry or restaurant experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The Server will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, handling transactions, and upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive guest services throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Micros POS, ensuring proper entry and timely communication to the kitchen
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including cashiering duties and cash handling responsibilities
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained in all aspects of service, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen support as needed, adhering to safety guidelines
- Upsell menu items to maximize sales opportunities while enhancing guest satisfaction
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables promptly during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, tables, and workstations in compliance with sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations and guest experiences
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred but not required; training provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for order entry, billing, and cash handling
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during shifts
- Knowledge of food industry practices including serving, food safety, and hospitality principles
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales opportunities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
