Certified Dental Assistant Level II (Orthodontics)
Location: St. Catharines, ON (with travel to Ridgeway and Beamsville satellite offices)
Dr. Mark Zammit Orthodontics is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Certified Dental Assistant Level II to join our growing orthodontic team. We are dedicated to creating healthy, confident smiles through exceptional patient care and clinical excellence.
Dr. Mark Zammit is a Specialist in Orthodontics, providing treatment for children, teens, and adults. Our primary office is located in St. Catharines, with satellite locations in Ridgeway and Beamsville.
Key Responsibilities
- Dental assisting for the orthodontist and hygienists
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
- Instrument sterilization and infection prevention/control procedures
- Take digital impressions, intraoral photographs, and radiographs (as permitted by certification)
- Assist with orthodontic procedures and four-handed dentistry techniques
- Provide oral hygiene instructions and patient education
- Welcome and escort patients throughout their appointments
- Collaborate with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure a seamless patient experience
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
- Maintain accurate digital patient records, treatment notes, and clinical documentation
- Enter and update patient information within electronic health records and practice management software
- Utilize dental and orthodontic software to support charting, imaging, treatment tracking, and clinical workflows
- Coordinate effectively with the administrative team using digital communication and scheduling systems
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant Level II (required)
- Current HARP certification
- Previous dental assisting experience (1+ year preferred)
- Orthodontic experience is an asset; however, comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency with computer systems and technology in a clinical environment
- Experience working with electronic patient records and dental practice management software
- Familiarity with orthodontic and dental software platforms
- Ability to learn and adapt to new digital workflows and orthodontic technologies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining digital patient records and documentation
- Positive attitude with a commitment to outstanding patient care
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
