Scope of Position
The Vendor Master Data Specialist is a full-time role responsible for establishing and executing foundational vendor data management practices across the organization. This position plays a key role in improving vendor data quality, consistency, and structure by reviewing, matching, and maintaining vendor records within the organization's Master Data Management (MDM) ecosystem.
Working within the Stibo STEP platform and in collaboration with ERP and data teams, the Vendor Master Data Specialist will evaluate vendor match candidates, support vendor hierarchy and roll-up structures, and contribute to the development of scalable vendor data standards. This is a startup-oriented role, requiring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to define processes and best practices
Roles and Responsibilities
- Review and validate vendor match candidates within the Stibo STEP system, including integration outputs from D&B data sources.
- Evaluate and execute vendor record merges and establish global vendor relationships where appropriate.
- Support the development and maintenance of vendor hierarchies and roll-up structures to enable improved reporting and insights.
- Collaborate with ERP teams to standardize, cleanse, and normalize vendor data across source systems.
- Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements to matching, merging, and governance processes.
- Document workflows, decision criteria, and data standards to help establish repeatable MDM practices.
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of vendor data governance and stewardship frameworks.
- Assist in resolving data discrepancies between systems and ensuring alignment across platforms.
- Provide feedback on system functionality and opportunities for process automation or optimization.
