The ideal candidate will possess expert-level craftsmanship in tailoring and altering both men’s and women’s garments. We pride ourselves on fine craftsmanship, exceptional service, and a flawless fit—working with everything from high-end custom men's suits to intricate bridal gowns.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Garment Alterations
- Advanced Dress & Bridal Alterations: Expertly alter high-end evening wear, formal wear, and complex wedding gowns. This includes adjusting multi-layer and lace hemming, neckline reshaping, strap and sleeve adjustments, and taking in/out bodices, waists, and hips.
- Men’s Tailoring: Perform high-end structural alterations on men's formal and casual wear. Must be proficient in suit resizing (taking in/out waists, seats, and sides), shoulder adjustments, and reconstructing structured jackets and blazers.
- Precision Technical Work: Flawlessly execute everyday modifications including shortening sleeves on jackets/coats/shirts, hemming trousers and jackets, replacing zippers, repairing seams, and changing linings in structured jackets.
- Industrial Equipment Operation
- Advanced Machine Proficiency: Confidently operate and maintain a wide variety of commercial apparel machinery, including coverstitch machines (for professional knit and stretch hems), industrial single-needle lockstitch machines, overlock/serger machines (3, 4, and 5-thread), blind-hem stitchers, buttonhole machines, and heavy-duty gravity-feed steam irons.
- Quality Standards: Ensure all completed garments match original factory construction techniques, thread tensions, and stitch patterns so that alterations look entirely seamless.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven Experience: Professional experience as an alterations specialist, tailor, or seamstress with a proven track record handling both menswear and high-end womenswear/bridal.
- Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric types (silk, chiffon, lace, knits, wool, denim, etc.), and specialized sewing techniques across different types of machinery.
- Work Ethic: Skilled, dependable, and fast without ever compromising on quality. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines with ease.

- Location: 777 Queen Street East, Toronto, ON M4M 1H5
- Assessment: Please note that the interview process will be held at our Riverside studio and will include a practical, on-site technical skills assessment (including a live alteration demonstration using our industrial machinery).
- This is an on-site position located on Queen Street East, Downtown Toronto. Applicants must currently reside in the GTA and be legally authorized to work in Canada. No LMIA or visa sponsorship is available.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
