Job Summary
The Field Supervisor at Forged Drilling is responsible for overseeing all well site activities, ensuring safety, compliance with regulations, and efficient operations. This role serves as the project manager's representative on-site, managing personnel, equipment, and processes to meet project goals while adhering to company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and participate in general safety meetings.
- Perform regular safety inspections and address any identified hazards.
- Ensure proper use and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain knowledge of Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
Personnel Management:
- Supervise and coordinate all workers and contractors on-site.
- Ensure workers are properly trained and competent in their roles.
- Mentor crew members and rig managers.
- Identify and address training needs.
- Enforce established safety policies and job procedures.
Operations Management:
- Oversee drilling operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to operational standards.
- Forward-thinking involves a proactive mindset that anticipates future challenges and opportunities.
- Monitor and optimize well production.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and processes.
Supply Management:
- Prepare and organize all necessary supplies for upcoming projects.
- Ensure that the crew has all required tools and materials to perform their tasks efficiently and safely.
- Manage inventory of supplies, identifying needs, and coordinating procurement as necessary.
Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the project manager and on-site operations.
- Provide clear and consistent communication in both directions.
- Complete accident reports and investigations promptly.
- Complete weekly Behavioral Safety Observations (BSO)
- Complete weekly Drilling Rig Inspections
- Maintain accurate documentation, including core sheets, tours, and safety records.
- Complete work requisitions upon completion of the project
Equipment and Resource Management:
- Ensure all equipment is in good repair and properly maintained.
- Oversee proper use and storage of tools and equipment.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement ways to improve safety and efficiency.
- Participate in the development of Safe Work Procedures.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulations.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in drilling operations and well site supervision.
- Strong knowledge of different drilling techniques, equipment, and safety procedures. We are looking for dual rotary experience, but, will accept other experience.
- Demonstrated experience handling projects; Mobilizing/demobilizing efficiently, navigating team dynamics, managing client relationship, tracking project costs, and handling safety paperwork.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid).
- Valid Boiler Operator Certification Special Oilfield
- Completed Leadership for Safety Excellence training
- Certification in Reasonable Suspicion & Managing Impairment for Supervisors

- Capable of performing physical tasks associated with well site operations.

The Field Supervisor is responsible for maintaining all required certifications and applying the knowledge gained from these training programs to foster a safe and efficient work environment. Additionally, the Field Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that all supplies are ordered and prepared in advance for successful project execution.
Disclosure
The chosen candidate will be required to obtain a E-2 U.S. Work Visa to work on projects in the USA. To obtain this work Visa, the chosen candidate will need to have no prior arrests, charges, or convictions since the age of 18.
