We are seeking a full-time, high energy, self-motivated Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of integrated pest management by scouting, applying beneficial biological controls, and chemical pesticides.
Position Summary:
The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician supports the cultivation team by executing daily pest management, crop monitoring, sanitation, and compliance activities within a regulated cannabis production environment. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining plant health through proactive scouting, treatment application, accurate documentation, and adherence to SOPs and provincial cannabis regulations.
The IPM Technician plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency, compliance readiness, and overall crop quality. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, works well in structured environments, and takes pride in accuracy and accountability.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation and application of chemical pesticides and beneficial biological controls to cannabis plants.
- Operation and sanitation of backpack and hydraulic sprayers.
- Cannabis crop scouting and monitoring for pests and signs of infestation and/or disease.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and schedules to complete weekly tasks.
- Completing, maintaining, and reviewing records, and reports.
- Completing and maintaining IPM lab sanitation and inventory checks.
- Supporting departmental SOP and work instruction creation and revision.
- Supporting with training, trials, scheduling, and weekly departmental duties.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and applicable provincial cannabis regulations.

Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Must have completed high school with diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
- Able and willing to obtain a Provincial Commercial Pesticide Applicator License.
- Able to work flexible hours including scheduled shift changes, overtime, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Able to stay focused, follow instructions and complete repetitive and routine tasks.
- Able to pivot and adapt to changing schedules and assigned tasks with minimal notice.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in humid, hot, or cold environments, in low-light and high-intensity light settings and stand, walk, bend or kneel for extended periods.
- Comfortable working indoors in enclosed spaces for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 30 lbs.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safe work procedures for chemical pesticide applications is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of cannabis plant anatomy, greenhouse pests, viruses and diseases is considered an asset.
- Understanding of good documentation practices.
- Manual dexterity and motor coordination.
- Problem-solving, trouble-shooting, and analytical thinking.
- Strong attention to detail and skilled in precision work.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective and timely communication skills. Oral communications skills required.

- Proficient working with computers, tablets, and working with Microsoft Suite.
