We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team and become a trusted partner in the day-to-day management of our financial operations.
As an Accounting Specialist, you will:
- Report to and work closely with the Senior Finance Manager
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of a growing international business across multiple entities and currencies.
- Take ownership of full-cycle bookkeeping activities while ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely financial reporting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support payroll, billing, tax remittances, and month-end processes.
- Maintain and continuously improve financial systems, records, and processes that support efficient business operations.
- Serve as a key resource for day-to-day finance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable, payment processing, accounts receivable, and customer billing activities.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support Canadian and Australian payroll processing, including payroll remittances and related compliance activities.
- Prepare HST, GST, payroll remittances, and other routine tax-related filings.
- Manage multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and multi-currency accounting, including foreign exchange differences.
- Maintain project and class coding within QuickBooks Online to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Review employee expenses through Expensify and process invoices using Hubdoc.
- Complete month-end reconciliations, prepare supporting schedules, and ensure finance records, procedures, and deadlines are maintained.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a full-cycle bookkeeping role.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll support, and month-end processes.
- Experience working with multiple legal entities and/or multi-currency accounting is considered a strong asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and be based in Canada.
Preferred:
- Experience using Hubdoc, Expensify, or similar cloud-based accounting tools.
- Experience with project or class-based accounting within QuickBooks Online.
- Accounting Technician diploma, bookkeeping certification, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting Canadian and Australian payroll or indirect tax reporting.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 CAD
