Position Title: Assay Lab Technician - Fly-In/Fly-Out Operation
Salary Range: $33/hr + OT
About the Client and Role
We are on the hunt for an experienced Assay Lab Technician to support the Mineral Processing Department at an established Mine in Ontario. This is a fly-in, fly-out facility, with a 7x7 rotation, and will require day and night shifts. This is a Contract role to start however, we are looking for people interested in working Permanently as the client does often hire our staff Full-time. Pay is $33/hr plus overtime after 8 hours per day, with flights or paid travel expenses, and camp accommodation provided. If interested, please get in touch right away. This role provides technical support and coaching to assist the department and the company in striving to achieve their goals of "ZERO HARM"
Main Accountabilities:
- Ensure adherence to site policies, and laboratory procedures.
- Assist in preparing mine and mill samples, including tasks such as Sample Receiving, Sample Drying, Sample Crushing, Sample Pulverizing, and truck sampling.
- Actively identify and report hazards or incidents promptly, aligning with Mine Site's reporting procedures to facilitate timely resolution and preventive action.
- Maintain exemplary standards of housekeeping within the work area, promoting cleanliness, organization, and safety for all personnel.
- Performs any other responsibilities related to the Assay Lab Technician role as required or as assigned by the department head.
Main Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enthusiastic to work in the Mining/Minerals industry
- Attention to detail
- Proven ability to work at a consistent level for 12 hour shifts
- Comfortable with wearing a respirator for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
Comfortable with wearing PPE all shift
