Position Overview
Aberdeen Container Sales (DBA GrandTrunk Equipment Co.) is seeking a motivated, hands-on individual to help grow our equipment and shipping container sales business. This role combines sales, marketing, customer service, product assembly, and yard operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining our online presence, assisting customers, and ensuring our inventory is professionally presented and organized.
A clean office workspace will be provided, along with opportunities to earn additional income through sales commissions.
Responsibilities
Marketing & Sales
- Photograph equipment, machinery attachments, shipping containers, and other products.
- Create and manage online listings on Facebook Marketplace, Facebook Business Page, company website, and other advertising platforms.
- Write engaging product descriptions and advertisements.
- Promote inventory through social media and online marketing.
- Respond promptly to inquiries, messages, emails, and phone calls.
- Assist customers in person and provide product demonstrations.
- Follow up on leads and help guide customers through the purchasing process.
Yard & Inventory Management
- Organize, maintain, and improve the appearance of the outdoor equipment yard.
- Move, stage, and display equipment for customer viewing and photography.
- Load and unload equipment, attachments, and shipping containers.
- Stack, organize, and inventory shipping containers.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas.
Equipment Assembly & Operations
- Assemble and prepare equipment using basic hand and power tools.
- Perform basic inspections and setup of incoming products.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with deliveries and equipment handling as required.
QualificationsRequired Skills & Experience

- Strong sales mindset with the ability to build relationships and close deals.
- Creative and self-motivated with an interest in marketing and advertising.
- Comfortable using computers, smartphones, social media platforms, and online marketplaces.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand tools.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, or similar equipment is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous sales or customer service experience.
- Experience with Facebook Marketplace, social media marketing, or online advertising.
- Experience in equipment, construction, agriculture, trucking, or industrial products.
- Forklift or equipment operating experience.
Compensation & Benefits
