Coastal Lifting Solutions Ltd., located at 305 – 225 Mowat Street, New Westminster, BC V3M 4B1, is looking for 2 reliable Riggers to join our team. The wage offered is $39.00 per hour depending on experience, working 40 hours per week plus over time as needed. These are full-time, year-round positions. Benefits include extended health care, dental care, Life Insurance as well as company events. Benefits are available after completing a 3-month probationary period. Our ideal candidates will have 2 to 3 years of experience as a Rigger.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rigging and unrigging loads using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safe lifting operations
- Rigging for tower cranes while adhering to safety protocols and operational guidelines
- Coordinating with team members and site managers to plan lifting sequences and ensure a smooth workflow
- Conducting routine inspections of crane equipment, rigging gear, and related machinery for safety compliance and completing inspection logbooks
- Assisting with the setup, dismantling, and maintenance of crane systems as needed
- Communicating effectively with team members, including multilingual communication, when necessary, to facilitate a clear understanding of tasks
- Ensuring all operations comply with safety standards, including proper signaling and load management
- Providing excellent customer service by maintaining professionalism and safety awareness on-site
- Assisting the operator with crane maintenance
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Hold a valid Level 2 rigging certificate
- Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience with rigging and slinging
- Experience working on high-rise job sites, rigging for tower cranes
- Experience working with both luffing and flat-top/hammerhead cranes
- Experience working with fly-tables
- Demonstrated ability to signal the crane while working in blind conditions
- Good knowledge of WorkSafeBC (WSBC) Regulations, Parts 14 and 15”
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple trades
- Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, hooks, chains, lifting hardware, and load-bearing components
- Have a good knowledge of construction materials
- Be in good health and physically fit
- Completion of WHMIS
- Have a valid Fall Protection certificate
