Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Specialty Foods Cook to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation, cooking, and delivering exceptional food service experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing specialty frozen meals, daily soups, salads, our famous Flora Buns, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality food presentation. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience in the food industry is highly valued, and a strong understanding of food handling and safety protocols is essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook specialty foods according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks, including chopping, marinating, and assembling ingredients
- Ensure all dishes are prepared with attention to presentation, quality, and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Serve food efficiently while providing excellent customer service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or the food industry preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods specific to specialty foods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in meal preparation and serving in fast-paced environments is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic setting
