Posting for a Master Lecturer Position in Health and Physical Education
The School of Education in the Faculty of Education and Health at Laurentian University invites
applications from suitably qualified candidates for an existing Master Lecturer position with a
specialization in Health and Physical Education. The preferred start date is November 1, 2026.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be an accomplished educator with a background in Health and
Physical Education teaching methodology. Applicants with demonstrated experience in current
education technologies and AI Applications, AI Assistant, and AI Agent, literacy, inclusive and
special education, Indigenous perspectives, curriculum and assessment, educational leadership,
or other emerging areas relevant to Ontario education are encouraged to apply. The successful
candidate will contribute to teaching, scholarly activity, and service while supporting the
preparation of reflective, innovative, and community-engaged educators.
Preference is for an exceptional educator with:
- Master’s degree in Education, Health and Physical Education, Kinesiology, Health
Sciences or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of proven competence teaching in the elementary and secondary
panels in Health and Physical Education and other disciplines.
- Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers or eligibility for
membership.
- Demonstrated bilingual proficiency in English and French, with excellent oral and
written communication skills and the ability to teach, supervise, and collaborate
effectively in both official languages.
- A track record of successful post-secondary instruction involving teacher candidates in a
B.Ed. program
- Evidence of engagement in professional learning, scholarship, research or knowledge
mobilization related to education and/or health and physical education.
Experience in Indigenous education, including knowledge of First Nations, Métis and Inuit
perspectives, histories, cultures and ways of knowing, and demonstrated ability to integrate
Indigenous perspectives into teaching, learning, curriculum , and educational practice, is
considered an asset.
Teaching Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for revising/adapting/ teaching courses in Health
and Physical Education. Expertise and willingness to teach in other methodological areas (e.g.
having experience/background with other teachables or classroom methods courses),
