Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and maintaining industrial control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and related electrical components. This role requires a strong background in industrial maintenance and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing equipment for maximum efficiency and safety. The Electrical Programmer will collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop solutions that enhance production processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Duties
- Develop, test, and implement control programs for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Maintain and update existing control systems, ensuring optimal operation of machinery such as CNC machines and sensors.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to diagnose issues related to industrial maintenance and electrical failures.
- Utilize AutoCAD or similar software to design or modify electrical schematics for new or existing equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical components, including low voltage systems, sensors, and wiring.
- Assist in the integration of new automation technologies into manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support for production staff regarding electrical system operation and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to electrical work and industrial maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial electrician work or programming within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, sensors, and low voltage systems.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software for electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and automation technologies is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency improvements.
- Strong customer service orientation when working with internal teams or external vendors.
