SUMMARY:
We are seeking a hands-on, flexible and knowledgeable Quality Assurance Technologist to ensure our company remains compliant with industry regulations. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, this individual should have a sound knowledge in HACCP/BRC environment, a good eye for detail and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.

SHIFT: Day(7AM - 3PM)
- Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM
- Weekends as needed
- Located in Brampton with occasional on-site visits to our North York location as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and maintain food safety and quality programs to the BRC standards.
- Perform inspections /internal audits according to written programs & document results and ensure CARs are completed.
- Coordinate and prepare for customer audits and 3rd party audits (BRC); Assist with CFIA/FDA, Kosher or any regulatory inspections as required.
- Timely prepare QA reports.
- Train staff on GMP’s/HACCP/Sanitation programs /Quality /Food Safety, etc.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of raw materials and finished products throughout the entire production process.
- Conduct package quality inspection and quality audits and isolate product that does not meet standards.
- Handle customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction. Perform investigation of customer complaints or recall.
- Ensure root cause analysis is performed and actions are taken to prevent reoccurrence of non-conformances. Verify the effectiveness of actions taken.
- Implement Hold procedures for any potential food safety or quality issues.
- Collect and submit samples for third party laboratory analysis.
- Perform Quality Control Testing (sifter tailing analysis, instrument calibration & finished product evaluation).
- Perform Environmental Swabbing.
- Any other QA duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, biotechnology or equivalent related experience
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a HACCP/BRC environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment an asset
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Result oriented and multi-tasking
- The ability to work with minimum supervision
