Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Driller Assistant / Operator to join our construction and heavy equipment team. This role involves assisting with drilling operations and operating various types of heavy machinery to support construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and efficiency on the job site. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team on diverse projects, including environmental and geotechnical drilling, paving, and general construction tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and operation of drilling equipment, including D50T drilling machinery.
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, backhoes, and Caterpillar machinery.
- Support the team in the safe and efficient movement of materials around the job site.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Collaborate with team members to execute construction tasks related to paving, grading, and site preparation.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with site preparation, including excavation and material handling as needed.
- Support project supervisors in meeting project timelines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, backhoes, and Caterpillar machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with construction-related activities including paving, grading, and envrionmental drilling.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for driving heavy machinery or transporting materials.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as vertical drill rigs and geoprobes and other construction machinery.
- Knowledge of safety standards in construction environments and commitment to maintaining a safe work site.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in outdoor environments for extended periods.
This role is integral to our construction projects' success, requiring dedication to quality workmanship and safety compliance at all times.
Pay: $30.00-$42.00 per hour
