We're seeking an Automotive Technician to repair and maintain vehicles, including inspecting parts, replacing worn or defective parts, and troubleshooting electrical or equipment problems. You will be responsible for diagnosing problems and fixing cars on a daily basis. As an automotive technician, you must be mechanically inclined and able to use tools and equipment to repair cars. We require a broad knowledge of automobiles and good customer service skills. Excellent communication skills are essential for communicating with clients about the work performed. If you have experience in servicing all types of vehicles, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you should be able to arrange replacement parts, test equipment and assess vehicle operation.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose car problems and determine the most appropriate solution.
- Diagnose faulty equipment and repair or replace components.
- Perform maintenance to ensure proper operation of the vehicles (e.g. lubrication, tire rotation, cleaning the fuel system etc.).
- Inspect all parts of a vehicle, including the engine and fuel system, using diagnostic equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools to remove and install parts.
- Use technology like scanners and computers to identify parts and track maintenance history.
- Document all work using computer software.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Manage resourcing, organize and supervise subordinate employees.
- Respond to customer queries regarding cars or general car issues (e.g. where to go or what to do).
- Educate customers about common problems related to the cars they use.
- Suggest new features that would improve the safety or performance of their cars and inform them about upcoming changes.
- Recognize defective parts (in order to avoid further damage) and suggest replacements.
