TITLE: Materials Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for the daily management of the supply chain and its impact on the processes, products, equipment, people, customers, and business development.
DIRECT REPORTS: Production Scheduler, Material Handler, Shipper/Receiver
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Global Materials
MAJOR DUTIES:

Managing the supply chain through increasing supplier core capabilities while decreasing cost of goods based upon strategic objectives and supplier metrics

Responsible for quarterly review of standard costs of materials to ensure that current cost of goods objectives are met or exceeded while coordination with the finance department

Supporting business development projects through direct communication with customers and the supply chain

Coordination with the Senior Manager, Global Materials and Director of Global Operations on the business development quotation process
-
Utilizing EPR/MRP software to automate purchasing and planning activities while reducing set up costs and inventory levels
-
Lead in development and implementation of continuous improvement efforts within the areas of responsibility
-
Responsible for annual physical inventory process, management of the inventory system, meeting or exceeding total inventory dollars and turns
-
Coordinating with the Senior Manager, Global Materials and Director of Global Operations for semi-annual pricing review processes with customers

Customer support of product, pricing, and process change
-
Coordinating with the operations department to ensure that sustainment production planning goals are met or exceeded
-
Responsible for transportation costs to meet or exceed annual objectives
-
Coordination of intercompany products and shipments
-
Ensuring that the processes responsible for meet the quality management systems expectations and objectives
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Operations department, Quality department, Customers, Suppliers
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in business, supply chain management, or relevant area

5-10 years’ experience in an operational, materials, or purchasing department within a
-
manufacturing environment

Previous experience with ERP/MRP software in regards to purchasing and production planning
-
Experience in supporting business development projects with cross functional teams
-
High volume workload requires conscientious attitude with accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to develop, and implement high level objectives
-
Direct experience in communication with customers and suppliers
-
Proficient in with Microsoft office (outlook, excel, word, power point)
-
Good communication skills (oral, written, technical)
-
Excellent time management skills and the ability to be self-directed
-
Customer focus and continuous improvement approach.

The position may require some light travel (USA and Canada).
