THE ROLE:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a new university graduate to start and grow their career in Accounting. We are searching for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team in Calgary on a temporary contract. Reporting to the Team Lead, Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for providing support to a full-cycle Accounts Payable team.
This is a 12-month temporary position.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
Verify, index and code invoices in OpenInvoice
Prepare journal entries, and reporting in SAP
Provide timely support to resolve issues with vendor invoicing, credits and payments
Effectively communicate and escalate issues/information on a timely basis to the Supervisor, Accounts Payable
Identify opportunities for process improvements across the Accounts Payable team
WHAT YOU BRING:
Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience within the oil and gas industry would be a benefit
Experience with OpenInvoice, and SAP is an asset
Experience working with MSOffice is an asset
Highly motivated team player and self-starter who focuses on getting the job done, accurately and completely
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
