The Day Services Manager is accountable to the Service Coordinator and the CEO.

JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, implements and oversees the day-to-day activities of the services. Participates in service development, policies and procedure formulation, service evaluation and budget preparation. The Manager is responsible for promoting job seekers to the employment community and liaising with employers to obtain employment leads and to identify jobs. This includes working closely with the staff team to ensure the service reflects participants’ needs, abilities and employment goals. As well, the Manager will monitor the staff team in all stages of employment and maintain relations with employers. The Manager is expected to keep up with changes in the field, have current knowledge of local job market and, together with staff team, develop and maintain innovative training and resources to achieve the highest standards in employment practices and education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·· Oversees the day-to-day operation of Day Services by ensuring that the employment first service guidelines and policies are adhered to service standards, accreditation standards are met and the necessary facilities and equipment are in place.
· Participates in the recruitment and selection of service staff by performing duties such as screening applicants, participating on interview panels and making hiring recommendations.
· Hires and supervises service staff by performing duties such as assigning work, job developing & coaching, providing feedback on performance and conducting performance evaluations, and facilitating disciplinary action and termination when needed (with the approval of their Coordinator and/or the CEO).
· Determines the need for, orientates, and provides training to service staff teams as needed.
· Schedules staff in accordance to service staffing requirements and job seeker employment opportunities.
· Promotes public awareness of and support for the service by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and creating and attending community employment events and creating partnerships with employers and the business community at large.
· Facilitate referrals to the service from Community Living BC and speaks with families/caregivers on an ongoing monthly basis.
· Operates within a set service budget, monitors and authorizes service expenditures and maintains financial records. Prepares reports as required to the Day Services Coordinator and the CEO.
· Facilitates Support Intensity Scale (SIS) meetings. Develops Individual Support Plans (ISP), Positive Behavioral Support plans (PBS) and sharevision goal monitoring. In addition maintains related records and statistics through Share Vision, Quarterly reports and Payroll.
· Formulates service policies and procedures and evaluates them and the service on an ongoing basis.
· When needed service managers provide direct support to persons served. They are responsible to model and demonstrate all necessary and required skills such as, but not limited to: job developing, job coaching, facilitating employment workshops, and assisting individuals with daily life skills, social skills and / or positive behaviour supports. Teaching and assisting individuals with activities such as life skills within the 8 domains of quality of life. (May be required to assist individuals with lifts and transfers) Day Service Managers need to be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs.
· Provides leadership and is involved in accreditation activities
· Participates as an active member on one of the Committees (when necessary).
· Reports to the CEO
Management position is non-union.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in a related human / social service field and/or
- ·Three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Previous experience in employment services
- ·Experience/Knowledge in complex care needs, trauma training, positive behavioral support, MCFD standards, and CARF accreditation standards
- · Negative T.B test
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Clear Health Certificate
- Approved First Aid and CPR certification
- Class 5 drivers license and Drivers Abstract
- Excellent verbal and written (grammar, spelling, format) communication skills
- Ability to ensure confidential information is maintained
- Ability to work on a team and independently
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner

Pay: $74,888.00-$76,960.00 per year
